About Cogent

Cogent was brought to fruition by two professionals from the Operations/ Manufacturing space who saw an increasing need to create a service provider that specifically understood the needs of its client base especially, but not limited to, the manufacturing (and similar complex business) sectors.

After experiencing the frustration of having providers treat their businesses as an opportunity to provide “a volume of candidates result” as opposed to providing specific skill sets, our Directors developed a set of robust methodologies and processes to capture the needs of their clients to coincide with their strategy, overall vision and business plan. The overall focus was to develop a long term partnership and commitment by both the candidates and the provider themselves,

Out of this philosophy – the Cogent Group – Cogent Resources and Cogent HR – was formed.

Cogent focusses itself on three core principles:

  1. The client needs
  2. The candidates
  3. Service delivery excellence.

Moving away from the more common “sales” function of labour and recruitment businesses, Cogent is focussed on developing a service delivery partnership with our Customers. Our Directors have held roles at Director Level in the complex manufacturing space, specifically in Food, Pharmaceutical, FMCG and Building Materials industries.

Our Staff are selected for their ability to manage complex projects, deadlines and the ongoing management of strategic KPI’s in consultation with their customers. With experience and qualifications across a number of fields such as HR, business and project management and Engineering, we combine their years of experience with their passion to provide an excellent and long standing service to both their customers and candidates alike.

Our Team

Our consultants are chosen from a number of areas but all have some common core traits. As a service delivery expert, our Consultants need to have a strong customer centric, a high level of respect for people and work with energy and enthusiasm first and foremost.

Coming from a range of commercial backgrounds, our Consultants have, along with recruitment industry experience have exposure to numerous industries and business models and are equipped with the guidance and tools to partner with our customers to provide a high level of service.

Our middle management team are recruited from a number of senior areas within HR and Operations. We also run a cadet programme for university students from a number of fields and disciplines to provide support and assistance to our teams. We are firm supporters of providing opportunity to our young people and providing them with an opportunity to be exposed to operations that are both small and large in size. We expose them to process improvement techniques, lean principles and an end to end understanding of what is required to manage a successful business.
